Community Equipment Service (CES), Wheelchair Service, Enabling Services

Community equipment and wheelchair services

Our community equipment service, provided by Medequip, provides patients with specialist equipment, such as hoists and grab rails, to help them remain independent for longer. In addition, we also offer a wheelchair service, provided by Bartrams, which includes full assessment so that we can make sure patients have the right wheelchair to meet their needs.

There is one telephone number to contact equipment and wheelchair services: 01473 351805.

Enabling services

Our enabling services team provide vital support to our clinical staff by fulfilling important roles which help their colleagues to deliver good patient care. The team includes receptionists, IT experts who manage our computer systems, facilities staff who look after the buildings from which we deliver care and catering and domestic staff, who keep our sites clean and provide meals for inpatients at our community hospitals.

Food hygiene rating: Felixstowe, Aldeburgh and Bluebird Lodge (Ipswich) and Newmarket community hospitals all have five-star ratings.
